The Role

Working for our fastest growing online trading division, this office based role working at our Milton Keynes site, shall report into the team leader and focus upon pro-active customer engagement. You will be expected to understand customer requirements, ensure opportunities are identified and targets are achieved as well as delivering a first-class level of customer service throughout. Please note that although this is a targeted pro-active ‘outbound’ calling role, you will only be speaking to existing (down spending) and lapsed customers, so there is genuinely no ‘cold calling’ involved whatsoever. Around half of your working week shall be spent on the phone, the other around administration/process and CRM updates. Your remit will ultimately be to strengthen those customer relationships and encourage an uplift in their online spending with Macfarlane. Hours of work are 9am-5:00pm (with half hour lunch) Monday- Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive customer relations in assigned area of responsibility
  • Achieve direct sales revenue and weekly call targets
  • Work closely with other members of the sales team and customer service team to provide excellent customer support and product delivery
  • Respond to new business enquiries and opportunities, developing these into sales prospects for immediate sales conversion or leads for external field sales personnel

Do you have the correct profile?

We welcome applications from experienced internal sales professionals who have a demonstrable track record of working within a similarly proactive B2B outbound sales calling role. Experience of targeting existing but down spending accounts and/or lapsed accounts would be advantageous.

You shall ideally be used to working to sales targets & KPIs. Strong communication skills and telephone manner are of course essential as is a good general level of ICT. It is imperative that you are residing within a sensible commute of the Milton Keynes (Kingston area) office location.
