Location: Coventry (Middlemarch Business Park)
Apprentice entry-level role, Basic Salary in line with National Minimum Wage
£12,100- £16,100 per annum (dependant on age) plus company benefits  
The Company
Macfarlane Group PLC is the UK’s largest packaging distributor and our Head Office are seeking to urgently hire a Marketing Apprentice to undertake an advanced marketing framework (NVQ) course whist providing support to our multi-site business from our central marketing team based in Coventry. The Marketing Apprentice Role
Macfarlane Group are now recruiting for a Marketing Apprentice based at our Head Office in Coventry.  This is a dynamic and varied role where you will work within the established marketing team to help implement marketing plans and provide marketing support to our sales teams nationwide.  This role provides a fantastic opportunity for the right person to develop their marketing career within a market-leading business. Duties will include:

  • Collecting and organising market research data
  • Organisation of direct mailing and promotional material to customers and sales teams
  • Supporting the sales team in the development of customer presentations
  • Working with the marketing team to plan, organise and execute marketing campaigns & events
  • Supporting the implementation of digital marketing plans
  • Analysis and reporting of customer data

The job will comprise of extensive on the job training and you will be exposed to all areas of the marketing mix.  You will be working closely with an experienced marketing team and will also have regular interaction with the wider sales organisation.
The initial contract of employment will be apprenticeship based (Level 3 Framework in Marketing awarded upon successful completion) with an 18 month duration/contractual commitment and working ours are set at 37.5 per week spread across Monday to Friday.

Do you have the correct profile?
We are genuinely open minded to welcoming interest from a wide range of individuals for this opportunity, provided there is a genuine desire/interest in beginning a marketing career and working within a professional environment. Any previous experience or knowledge gained relating to marketing would of course be advantageous but isn’t essential. You will certainly be a team player, with good communication skills and attention to detail and a proactive with a “can do” attitude… and you will of course have a genuine thirst for learning new skills and acquiring new knowledge.

Desired qualifications
Five or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at A-C level which must maths & English (or be willing to improve maths/English grades as part of the training journey).
