The Company
We, the UK’s largest packaging distributor are creating a brand-new role for a Logistics Project Coordinator to join our central logistics team and support the wider business with stock/product barcode indexing. We are a committed equal opportunities employer that champions ‘dignity in the workplace’. Our focus is to provide customers with fully integrated and innovative packaging solutions, augmented by outstanding customer service. As a group we are continuing to grow significantly and always keen to attract new talent to our business.
The Logistics Projects Coordinator role
We have recently invested in a brand-new, state of the art Warehouse Management System (WMS) which shall provide us with greater control of our inventory, locations, and stock whereabouts. This new role is truly integral to the success of our new system, as it will be focused primarily on supporting the implementation roll out phases. Visiting all our sites nationally, you will be required to locate/identify and index all stock items by their unique barcodes, enabling accurate set up within the new system. You shall therefore be involved with plenty of stakeholder engagement and collaboration (both internally with our logistics/procurement teams & also externally with our suppliers) to coordinate & expedite the product barcoding process. Visiting each of our sites for a week or two at a time, you will during the first 12 months be expected to travel UK wide and stay away from home regularly (transport provided & expenses/subsistence paid accordingly). This is a great time to join our central logistics team and have input to a key project which will help shape the future direction of our business. Full training will be provided and once this project is completed, the role will transition into providing fully rounded central logistics project support to our various locations.
Logistics Projects Coordinator Key Duties
The roll out of our Warehouse Management System is an exciting time for us and we believe in getting it right first time, you will find yourself scanning existing stock products, identifying unique barcodes, and then configuring the WMS to the sites specific needs based on your findings.
