The Company

Macfarlane Labels Limited is a leading UK manufacturer of self-adhesive and resealable labels. We operate from two label manufacturing sites, the first in Kilmarnock Scotland and second near Dublin in Ireland. We have a Design & Innovation office in Sweden, with manufacturing of machinery under contract in Denmark. There are established Reseal-it® sales in Europe and a major exclusive Reseal-it® partner in USA. Macfarlane Labels have a patented resealable label solution which incorporates application machinery, a pre-applied label option and a fully integrated laminate Reseal-it® solution. 

The Opportunity

Our objective is to grow our Reseal-it sector to in excess of 70% of sales and to do so we need to recruit a European Business Manager, responsible for selling the Reseal-it® concept involving both application machinery and our labels manufactured in-house in UK and Ireland. The successful applicant will therefore be expected to adopt a full-sales-cycle role, supporting existing machine partners across Europe whilst exploring new partnership opportunities as well as retaining and growing our established Reseal-it customer base.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Reseal-it Director and Managing Director of Macfarlane Group Sweden, the role will require frequent European travel (particularly Germany) to meet with partners, prospects and customers, discussing and understanding their technical needs with regards to labelling machinery to make appropriate recommendations and offer ‘total’ solutions. You will manage a dual reporting line internally whilst working closely with all internal stakeholders and management to encourage cooperation and help enhance the brand image of Reseal-it. Ultimately, all of the above will be undertaken with a firm view of commercial expectations and in an effort to meet the stretching sales/growth targets.

Do you have the correct profile?

In order to apply for this role you must be able to demonstrate a strong track-record of performance gained working within a similar pan-European labelling/packaging or print machinery sales role. It is imperative that you are bi or (preferably) multi-lingual, with our most preferred languages being German and Dutch. An understanding of films/laminates would be highly advantageous. Naturally, you will have strong commercial acumen, customer orientated, communication and negotiation skills combined with an entrepreneurial drive and commitment to embracing a demanding role that will require frequent and extensive travel.
