Alex
Sales Executive

An experienced member of the Macfarlane sales team, Alex is a great example of how sales professionals can develop within our business, recently being promoted to Key Accounts Manager.

“I have worked for Macfarlane Packaging for 8 years. In this time Macfarlane have helped to developed me from a Sales Coordinator to a Sales Executive and now a Key Accounts Manager. In my new role, I oversee the account teams assigned to core accounts. My duties include: managing sales, planning and managing the full relationship between our business and our core customers”.

“The packaging distribution industry is extremely diverse, which is great as no two customer requirements are the same so no two solution approaches are the same either, meaning we need to work closely with our supplier base to ensure each customer gets the most effective solution for their needs”.

Kelly
Sales Coordinator

With the customer being at the heart of everything we do, Kelly and her team are central to ensuring we keep on delivering, not just in terms of orders but an excellent customer experience day in, day out. This fast paced, varied role combines inbound and outbound activity, forming an important bridge between the customer and all core functions within the local distribution centre to ensure customer needs are met.

“Working as a Sales Co-ordinator at Macfarlane Packaging is very challenging but extremely rewarding. Every day is different but ultimately it is a very fulfilling role which I thoroughly enjoy”.

Sarah
Buyer

Being part of the local procurement team, Sarah manages a large portfolio of suppliers, negotiating best prices and sourcing the required products to ensure that our customers always benefits from quality offerings that represent best value for money.

“Working as a buyer means that every day is different! We enjoy the variety of products that we are asked to source and the challenge of every project. Our buying teams pride ourselves in being at the cutting edge of design, innovation and market knowledge. We aim to steer our customers towards the best packaging solutions in each situation and then engage the very best suppliers to work as our commercial partners”.

Rob
Logistics Manager

Managing a large warehouse operation, route planning, leading both warehouse and driving teams… it’s all in a day’s work for Rob, but he loves the cut and thrust, he must do as he’s been with us for over 15 years now!

“The role of Logistics Manager for Macfarlane is very fulfilling and rewarding. The job is fast paced and there is a variety of tasks that are required each day.  These tasks are made very manageable due to the software that Macfarlane has invested in and the great people you work with, across the business”.

Rob is also an example of how employees can progress their careers here at Macfarlane: “In the 15 years since I joined, I have completed my HGV licence and my transport manager’s CPC”.

Danielle
Sales Office Manager

Our Sales Office Managers are responsible for ensuring the office runs smoothly and that the sales team have everything they need to deliver a great service to our customers on a daily basis. Whether it’s dealing with customer enquiries, analysing reports, liaising with procurement, sales or logistics, each day brings something new and Danielle simply loves her job…

“I’ve been with Macfarlane Packaging for 15 years and a Sales Office Manager for 6 of those years – and I genuinely love my job, every day brings something new and challenging. I started life at Macfarlane Packaging as an administrator and worked through different roles including a Sales Coordinator and Key Account Coordinator, so I’ve really benefited from the opportunities here to progress over time. There are also often opportunities to contribute to central projects which really keeps things interesting. The company really value experience and I frequently have input to process and system improvement too.
